The Kanpur demonstration site was officially inaugurated on June 6 2022, by Smt. Neha Jain (IAS), District Magistrate of Kanpur Dehat in presence of members from Kanpur Jal Board and the Pavitra Ganga project team.
The pilot reactors comprising of IPC-MBR, SFD-MBR and anaerobic digesters were installed at the Jajmau site for treatment of wastewater.
Project team also had a meeting with Shri G Asok Kumar, the Director General of the National Mission for Clean Ganga. He was informed about the project and progress made and suggested to focus on the road map to exploit the wastewater treatment, water reuse, and resource recovery opportunities in Kanpur.
The Pavitra Ganga project team also used the occasion to evaluate the on-site piloting and performance of the installed technologies.
